Perfect for shopping, great German cuisine or just walking the sidewalks and taking in the local flavor. Fall is a special time to visit and see the leaves change on all the surrounding mountains.

If hiking is more of what you are after, try the trails of Unicoi State Park. Within Unicoi State Park, you will find Unicoi Lake with canoe rentals, a beach, bike trails and the beautiful Anna Ruby Falls.

Visiting Helen is not complete without "shootin the hooch". A leisurely floating experience with companies like Cool River Tubing, drifting down the Chattahoochee River as it winds around the streets of town and under the Main Street bridge. Along the river you will find plenty of restaurants with outdoor dining and places to view the tubers which makes tubing also a spectator sport. Visitors of all ages love spending the day playing in the water at the Helen Water Park .
